User guide
Where each function is, and the order that makes a job easier. It sits beside the scan tool. It does not code the car, clear adaptations, or open security access.
1
Connect
Tap the Bluetooth name in the header. On Android, in Chrome, pick the adapter. A Veepeak BLE+ or a similar BLE ELM327 is what it expects. If the name looks wrong, use Show all devices. The demo vehicle is already running, so you can learn the screens before you are at the car. An iPhone cannot open the adapter.
2
Live data
The gauges for the list you have selected. Up to four PIDs can sit on one graph, each on its own scale. If Record is off, that graph is only the last few seconds.
Open3
PID lists
Choose a short list for the job. The VE and BHP tests set their own channels when you arm them, then put your list back. Add a custom PID here if the standard list does not have it.
Open4
Record and the log
Record is in the header. Stop it and the run is saved on this phone. Open the log to export CSV or JSON. The registration, make and model are written on the file when you have filled them in.
Open5
Compare two runs
On the log list, mark one run A and another B. Compare appears only after both are marked. Both traces start at zero on the same scale. Use it for before and after, or to put this vehicle against another.
Open6
Volumetric efficiency
Enter the vehicle and the engine size in litres. Accept the road warning. Arm the test, then one pull in 2nd or 3rd from low revs to high revs. Do not change gear. Lift, and the report stays on the phone even if you walk out of Bluetooth range. Print it. A low number can point at a restriction, a leak after the airflow meter, cam timing, or a meter reading short. On a turbo the figure is against boost. If the ECU has no MAF, the test uses a wideband lambda and a fuel rate when both are on the generic port.
Open7
BHP
The same sort of pull. The figure is calculated from the data the vehicle provides, using the ECU’s torque when that is reported. An estimate, not a hub dyno. Print the graph.
Open8
Relative compression
Cranking only, and it needs a long crank. A low slot is worth a gauge test. An even result is encouraging. It does not prove the compressions are good, because the RPM the ECU shows is already filtered.
Open9
Codes
Read stored, pending and permanent codes. Clear sends Mode 04. Use that after the repair, not to hide a fault that is still there.
Open10
Freeze frame
The conditions the ECU stored when the fault set. Open it from Tools, or from the links on the Codes screen.
Open11
Mode 06
Catalyst, oxygen sensor and EVAP results, pass or fail against the limits stored in that ECU. Also linked from Codes.
Open12
Min and max
At the bottom of Tools. Arm it and it keeps the highest and lowest value on the channels in the current list. Useful for a short road test when you do not need a full log.
